Payment Officer (x3 Roles)
- Location: Geelong (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days from home)
- Rate: $52.00 per hour + super
- Term: Temporary (ASAP – 31 December 2026)
About the Opportunity
As a Payment Officer, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of high-volume provider accounts and client reimbursements. This role is a dynamic blend of financial processing, proactive problem solving, and high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficient Processing: Manage medical treatment costs and accurately process provider accounts to ensure eligibility of the medical excess threshold.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide first call resolution via inbound and outbound calls through the dedicated accounts phone line.
- Problem Solving: Use LEAN techniques to identify the root cause of payment issues and implement process improvements.
- Technical Management: Utilize specialized systems including AVANTI, CPS, and the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively call providers to resolve billing inquiries and increase their understanding of billing standards to prevent rework.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- High-Volume Processing: Proven experience managing and processing a large volume of accounts quickly and with exceptional accuracy in a demanding environment.
- Negotiation and Influence: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders to achieve rapid issue resolution.
- Detail-Oriented and Autonomous: Excellent attention to detail and the capacity to work independently on repetitive tasks.
- Desirable: Background in Allied health, Medical or Legal admin space or Data entry space is desirable.
Eligibility and Assessment
- To be considered for this role, candidates must possess full working rights in Australia.
- A key requirement for successful applicants is the completion of a Data Entry test. This assessment measures typing speed and accuracy, which are critical skills for the position.
